Sad day Blackhawks

Well, we saw the Blackhawks 24 game point streak finally come to an end with an ugly loss to the Colorado Avalanche Friday night. Things started out well with the Blackhawks netting an early one a few minutes into the first period with a beautiful two pass setup from Saad to Hossa then finished by Johnathon Toews. One goal would not hold up to be enough for the Blackhawks and Corey Crawford, who proceeded to let up five straight goals before being pulled for Ray Emery who has handled the net for most of the season so far. The game ended a brutal 6-2 in favor of Colorado, who has only won one of their last seven games. No need to panic yet though, even with this one loss the Blackhawks are still in first place and have an 8 point lead over the next best team in the entire NHL, the Anaheim Ducks. Regardless, it is a great year to be a Blackhawks fan. Every other NHL team that has started out as well as the Blackhawks have made it to the Stanley Cup... and won it. Could this year be a repeat of the 2010 run where we could see a 2nd trophy brought home in the last 3 seasons? With the way things are currently going and the shortened season, every game feels like a playoff game! Let's hope our boys keep on rolling in the W's!
